Port FC’s game against Police Tero ended abruptly with just a few minutes left on the clock, when a floodlight failure left the stadium in darkness. The game was eventually abandoned, leaving the final decision with the Thai League and the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) to determine how to proceed.
The FA confirmed yesterday that, as per the competition rules, Port FC will be forced to forfeit the match and Tero would be awarded with a 2-0 victory. In addition, the Klongtoei side will have to pay a THB50,000 fine for the lighting failure.
This result sees Tero pick up 12 points from their first five games, jumping above Port FC in the standings to third place.
